Tags & Bags (10)

For the holidays I make a lot of cards. Whether they are cards I send out, cards a friends or coworker asks me to make or cards I sell in my Etsy shop, I make a lot of cards from September to December. What I don't make enough of is packaging. I never seem to make the cute tags or adorable bags I have the supplies for. Well recently I fell in love with The Stamp Market and they sell quite a few products that made me want to make the cute things I never do and so I bring you my first blog features, Tags and Bags.

The final bag for this series is one I am kind of obsessed with and I want to make a bunch more of.

I'm in charge of the favors for our holiday party every year because I make things. Well this year I came across the Honey Bee Stamps Gift Bag Card die and I knew that was what I was going to make. I made 34 of them for our work party out of patterned paper from Sunny Studios. But I wanted to use it to make something else. Like I used for the tags earlier this week I took out my handy  Simon Says Stamp glitter card stock and cut out the side panels for the bag base and attached them with strong double sided tape.

With the bag complete I used a piece of  Simon Says Stamp's School House Red card stock and die cut the tissue paper insert. Going through the ribbon I owned I took some red satin ribbon from Michaels (I think) and created the handles on either side. Again seeing the need for some embellishment, even with the silver glitter paper, I stamped (in Altenew's Ruby Red) and die cut the candy cane from The Stamp Market's No Peeking stamp bundle.

I took the tag from the die set and cut that out of the 110lb. Neenah Solar White card stock. I stamped the sentiment and small tree from the Simon Says Stamp set, Merry and Bright, in the same Ruby Red ink as the candy cane. And to top it all off I added it was yet another mini clothespin.

True story, this is probably now my favorite of the bunch and I have an idea how to change up the tag with another product from The Stamp Market.

This week has been all about bags. Well packaging that looks like a bag. Thanks so much for checking out my 2 week feature.

Do you have a favorite bag or tag that I posted?
