Altenew Certification Program (6)

I have been making cards for over 2 years now. Since starting I have tried to find way to make my card making skills improve and I wasn't really sure how to do that. Well enter the Altenew  Educator Certification Program.

What is the Educator Certification Program? I'll let Altenew explain it with their own word:

Do you want to enhance your skills and become a crafting expert/educator? Altenew Education Program could be your answer! This program will help you improve your paper crafting skills, master new techniques and redefine the way crafters learn! When you join our team of educators, you will have access to exciting and exclusive educator benefits - product discounts, sponsorships and more! Together, we can work towards spreading the art of paper-crafting throughout the community and across the globe.

I mulled it over and final decided to apply and I was accepted!

What this means is I will be taking classes at the Altenew Academy and then creating card projects based off of the techniques I learn. Some will be new to me and others I have been doing for a while. I'm really excited to see where this will lead.

The 6th class in my Altenew Educator Certification was called Let It Shine. The premise of this class was ways to add sparkle and shine to our projects. I'm not gonna lie, I love some sparkle and shine to a project, but I will not use lose glitter so I have found other ways to add some dazzle and this class really helped with adding to those ways.

I have recently started working on holiday cards and with a new size card base. When I was going through my holiday product stash I came across this Sketched Evergreen stamp set which has always been a favorite of mine. Since I was working with a business sized card base It seemed like the perfect stamp set to use.

Once the stamp set and card size was selected it was time to decide on the inks. I scanned the greens I have and went back and forth for a while but finally I decided on my current favorite greens, Sweet Leaf, Just Green, and Hunter Green. And for the base I went with my newest sets of greys, Warm Gray Mini Cube Set. And for the sentiment I just used VersaFine Onyx Black ink to make sure it was clear and crisp. And for the sparkle, I used some Pretty Pink Posh, Metallic Silver Jewels.

I don't know about you, but this is a card I would love to get in the mail.

How do you had Shine and Sparkle to your cards?

Next class will be:Celebrations - Stencil Techniques.
